Fridays Are For Lovers…

Especially for loving the weekend, it can’t get here fast enough…

So I finally finished Frankenstein Created Woman (*** ½ out of 5). It’s not a bad film at all, in fact it’s quiet an interesting flick. The idea of two lovers sharing a body and plotting revenge is pretty cool. I liked how Cushing played Frankenstein here as someone so detached from reality by science that he had little to no reaction when Hans was killed, instead he was giddy about the prospect of having a subject. Cushing’s Frankenstein is fascinating and frightening simultaneously.

So I’m not quiet as pumped as I had been, but I am slightly intrigued still by this game. It’s looking less like a Dungeon Crawl game and more like a skirmish game in a dungeon. Intriguing, but I’m not sure I’m going to be spending my cash on it now.

So back in the day BBC Radio did a Doctor Who adventure starring Peter Cushing as the Doctor, a role he’d played in two movies, and none other than Vincent Price. I was completely unaware of this. Now that I am I must find them. THEY MUST BE LISTENED TO!

I think this is what I’d be going for in a Gamma World campaign. If this visual insanity had a baby with the old Thundarr The Barbarian cartoon. I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again Zach Snyder’s visual sense with Chris Nolan’s storytelling ability could make Superman something VERY special.

- Is Nic Cage capable of making a good movie? I mean really. He seems to relish in his ‘badness’. In fact I want to see Season Of The Witch so I CAN relish in his ‘badness’.
- Enchiladas, my wife made them last night and they were friggin’ amazing!
- I have my D&D group’s first adventure completely planned out in my head. In fact I’ve got the first few levels completely structured, on paper even. I’m well ahead of the curve. The best part is I’m not being as ambitious in scope as I was last time and it’s served to make it not only more accessible but I’m really thinking it’ll be better.
- I’m sick and tired of snow.
- A couple of the folks on Board Game Geek dot com are doing ‘Town’ & ‘Travel’ decks for the campaign versions of Castle Ravenloft & Wrath Of Ashardalon. I’ve been fortunate enough to be helping on this. What they’ve come up with is brilliant in it’s simplicity and ability to add more layers of narrative to the game. I look forward to giving it a try.
- I’m going to sleep like my life depends on it this weekend.
- Last night as I tried to finally let sleep embrace me I was able to put together the ‘hows’ & ‘whys’ of the next Marvel SAGA. We’ve been able to build such an intricate little corner of the Marvel Universe that I want things to tie together to have resonance. So when I’m able to do so it is VERY satisfying. I’m looking forward to being able to run Haven, aka Dave, through his paces while simultaneously having the rest of the ‘Protectors’ deal with the fallout of being trapped in a Kree Warship in the Negative Zone. With all the things I’ve come up with, the insane hooks the players developed, and a desire to tell a story we’ve built in narrative ‘back doors’ where I can tie stories together very easily. And if it doesn’t make sense I just utter “Comics, that’s why!”
- I’m hoping that the basement gets put back together this weekend, and the new T.V. gets put up. That would make that downstairs a ‘real room’.

“Day after day
I will walk and I will play
But the day after today
I will stop
and I will start

Why can't I get just one kiss?
Why can't I get just one kiss?
Believe me there's some things that I wouldn't miss
But I look at your pants and I need a kiss!

Why can't I get just one screw?
Why can't I get just one screw?
Believe me I know what to do!
But something won't let me make love to you.

Why can't I get just one fuck?
Why can't I get just one fuck?
I guess it's got something to do with luck!
But I waited my whole life for just one...

Day after day
I get angry
And I will say
That the day
Is in my sight
When I'll take a bow
and say goodnight.

Oh my my mymymy mo mo mum
Have you kept your eye, your eye on your son?
I know you've had problems
You're not the only one
When your sugar left, he left you on the run.

Oh my my mymymy mo mo mum
Take a look now at what your boy has done
He's walkin' around like he's #1
He went downtown and he got him a gun.

So don't shoot shoot shoot that thing at me
Don't shoot shoot shoot that thing at me
You know you've got my sympathy
But don't shoot shoot shoot that thing at me

Broken down kitchen at the top of the stairs
Can I mix in with your affairs?
Share a smoke, make a joke
Grasp and reach for a leg of hope.

Words to memorize
Words hypnotize
Words make my mouth exercise
Words all fail the magic prize
Nothin' I can say when
I'm in your thighs

Mo my my mymymy mo my mother
I would love to love you, lover
City is restless, it's ready to pounce
Here in your bedroom, ounce for ounce

I'm givin' you decision to make
Things to lose, things to take
Just as he's about ready to cut it up
She said,
"Wait a minute, honey, I'm gonna
Add it up."

Add it up!
Add it up!
Add it up!
Add it up!

Day after day
I get angry
And I will say
That the day
Is within my sight
When I'll take a bow
And say goodnight

* = I have no earthly idea what the monsters are here, but I dig the mood the picture has, and I think I'd like to be able to evoke that sometime in this next D&D Campaign.

  1. The basement will get back together unless you decide to push me down the stairs again. ;-)

Hopefully I will have enough courage to trust my skills and get the TV on the wall. I say it's a 50-50 chance right now.

  2. Oh now I'm being accused of abuse? Wha? Keep it up and I will push you down the stairs and collect that sweet, sweet insurance cash...

    I'm goog with 50-50.
