It’s Friday already? I mean that in a good way, really. Although tomorrow is D&D and I still have to put together Madame Ruby’s massive house of ill repute, The Guilded Lily. I had what I thought was a nice straight forward ‘mission’ style adventure for the Old School Group, but it’s become a much more convoluted potential jumping off point for a TON of adventures. (I just dig how creepy this pic is) This is going to be a ‘Hub’ moment for the PC’s as there are plenty of potential hooks, rivalries, enemies, allies, and adventures to be had. Gawds, I just re-read that and I feel like I’m tooting my horn. You know what SCREW THAT, I am tooting my own horn, and I’m sure the Old School Crew will dig it or I’ll break their legs.

- So apparently Millionaires & Billionaires feel like they are being attacked right now by the other 99% of society because they are so ‘successful’. As anyone who knows me know I’m really only one ‘ist’, I’m a classist. I hate(s) me some rich folk. Say that with a southern accent, I mean like a Hillbilly southern accent, it’s actually quiet entertaining. Ok, back on task. It’s not all ‘richers’ that I hate it’s just those who have zero perspective on their place in civilized society, those that feel the necessity to flaunt their luxury to the masses, those that NEVER give back, and really… Well O.K. I most likely hate all of them that’s why I’m a Classist. Anyway with all the Occupy Wall Street, and other protests going on right now I was surprised to see THE Chris Sims tackle the subject on his Comic Alliance column. THIS image alone has redeemed my sinking opinion of the Internet’s Foremost Batmanologist;

- Blue Oyster Cult is a damn fine band.
- Last night I listened to a BBC radio production of John W. Campbell’s ‘Who Goes There’ (***** out of 5). For those that don’t know this is the short story that The Thing From Another World (***** out of 5),
John Carpenter’s The Thing (INFINITE *’s out of 5), and the new ‘prequel’ to Carpenter’s flick inventively entitled The Thing are based on. It was fantastic. I just am in love with the premise of a small group of people trapped somewhere dealing with an enemy that can literally be anyone at anytime and wants to eat us. The paranoia, the disintegration of personal relationships, and the ambiguous ending makes it one of my favorite horror stories.
- The eReader is working, and it’s hella-cool.
- Monster Vault 2: Threats To The Nentir Vale (**** ½ out of 5) is really solid. In fact for any 4E DM it’s a must have book. It’s full of not only decent monsters, but it’s chock full of interesting Villains, I mean straight up campaign length villains. Kudos to Wizards for continuing to adjust what they’ve done and build for the 4E players while at the same time not turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the fans that checked out of the current edition.
