Wolfen Vs. The Day The Earth Stood Still

* = Really? REALLY? This is the best 'we' could do for a great character getting a drama series? GAH! I'm already disappointed...

Today I’ve decided to just hammer out a whole bunch o’

RANDOM CRAP!

- 57 Miniatures. That’s how many I was able to finish over the weekend. That is officially C-R-A-Z-Y-! There is absolutely, positively NO way I’ll ever be able to duplicate that output. Damn it feels good to be a ‘gangsta’ though.
- I would fight an old person for a chicken fried steak right now.
- KU vs. UNC is my pick for the National Title Game. Thank you to Texas & K-State for ‘crappin’ the bed’ in the second round. I have to say though there have been some outstanding games in the tournament, I actually thought for a fleeting moment yesterday that Michigan was going to knock of Duke, then I remembered they’re Duke and Michigan is still Michigan.
- I get to babysit the niece & nephew this coming Saturday. I’m thinking it’ll be hotdogs, LEGO’s, and maybe some dancing.
- Friday night we headed over to M.M.&C.’s house for some of the most scrumtulescent Turkey Burgers I’ve ever had the privilege to taste. Oh and we had grill asparagus. That’s right GRILLED asparagus; it was so good that I even got the O.V.H. (Original Vegetable Hata’) Cassandra to try them. It was a nice night and good to see them. Man that kid has gotten HUGE!
- 6 inches of snow on Wed.? Gawd hates us.
- I currently watching the MST3K of Hercules Unchained, and believe it or not I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before. I have to admit that there isn’t much better out there than a Steve Reeves as Hercules episode of MST3K. There so earnestly bad that Joel &/or Mike and the ‘bots’ can rip into them without mercy.
- Seriously 57 miniatures in a week. THAT’S how I ROLL!
- Saturday we went to Princeton, MN for ‘La-la’s’ & the Father-In-Law’s birthday. Lee, Ant, & I busted out some Zombie Survival (**** ½ out of 5) which was a ‘screw your neighbor-a-thon’. I ended up eking out a victory, but one has to remember you don’t really ‘win’ that game you simply survive longer than your opponents, so it’s a bit of a bummer. We then watched Unstoppable (**** out of 5) which I had EVERY intention of hating. I was wrong. There I admit it. Bask in it, because I don’t admit it often. This was a very well done, entertaining, and well acted flick. I’m not saying I’d watch it again, but I was impressed and really enjoyed it. Then we got lost on the way home, which was ‘super fun’. And by ‘super fun’ I mean I felt like drowning kittens. Alls well that ends well, we made it home and that’s all that matters.
- I really hope Japan can turn it around, because right now they are scaring me.
- Libya? I know they have oil, so there is reason one, but does anyone else have a sense of de ju vu? Didn’t we bomb these folks back in the 80’s or 90’s? Are about to launch a ‘Bombing Reunion Tour’ across the Middle East? I’m all for the people there getting to control their own lives and governments, but I am whole heartedly against putting ground troops in another country. I’m against us subsidizing them, and I’m completely against us ‘nation building’. We need to some ‘nation building’ HERE, not over there. I wish them all the luck, and I’m actually impressed and happy to see other countries take the lead here. Although Putin calling this another ‘Crusade’ is about as stupid as stupid can get. WHOOPS! Just by writing that I’m now going to have to check my mail for radiation poisoning.
- I hate getting sealer on my hands. It’s a pain in the ass to clean off.
- For the record I’m not a ‘Fab Five’ hater. I just don’t like former pro athletes who spend their entire career and now their entire NEW career in the after glow of self-promotion. Let’s be ‘real’ here for a second, NEVER believe the hype, nothing is ever as good as the folks involved in it want you to believe. I do have to admit though that watching those highlights reminded me that I can’t think of another college basketball team that was that fun to watch, and I’m not sure we’ll ever see one like that again.
- How about Jon “Bones” Jones smashing “Shogun” Rua? I thought that would be a five round war not a three round demolition.
- Dave has decided to give everyone an opportunity to hear The Fairly Secret Army;
o http://thefairlysecretarmy.bandcamp.com/
On the site you can listen to the songs or the whole album, then you can CHOOSE what you want to pay for it. I would, AGAIN, tell you all that you should not only listen to it because it’s fantastic, but also throw some ‘ching’ his way so he & Greg can continue to hammer out great music.
- Cassandra has to watch Day Of The Triffids this week. I COMMAND IT!
- I read the little free e-Book prologue to the Abyssal Plague on WotC’s website. I wasn’t interested in the book before that, and now I am. Decent little read.
- The TV still isn’t up in the basement. We’re going to get to it. I just think we’re both terrified to mount it and have the bracket fall along with the TV. Oh and now we have the new wireless router, but guess what? It’s still not hooked up. Headaches and laziness conspired this weekend to prevent anything ‘real’ getting done. Maybe this week we’ll be able to knock that out.
- ‘Unchained’ is the best Van Halen song. It’s no use arguing, because if you don’t agree with me you're simply wrong.

You know I feel like I’ve done my part here.

“Alright!
Haaa-ha-ha-ha!
You say, I cannot get there from here, baby
Then I don't care where I'm goin'
Here's to your thin red line
Mmm, I'm stepping over

Thought you'd never miss me till I got a fat city address
Non-stop talker, what a rocker
Blue-eyed murder in a size five dress

Change, nothin' stays the same
Unchained, and ya hit the ground runnin'
Change, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'

I know, I don't ask for permission
This is my chance to fly
Maybe enough ain't enough for you
But it's my turn at a try

Thought you'd never miss me till I got a fat city address
Non-stop talker, what a rocker
Blue-eyed murder in a size five dress

Change, nothin' stays the same
Unchained, and ya hit the ground running
Change, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'

Change, nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'
Change, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'

Woo-hoo! Take a look at this!
Hey man, that suit is you!
Whoo-whee! You'll get some leg tonight for sure!
Tell us how you do! Hoo hoo hoo!
(Come on Dave, gimme a break)
Hey hey hey hey! One break, comin' up!

Change, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'
Changed, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'

Change, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained, yeah ya hit the ground runnin'
Change, ain't nothin' stays the same
Unchained!”

* = When it's this good why can't they just get it right? It's not friggin' brain surgery...

  3. Settle down fanboy!

I think the outfit looks great, and I would even say the top is a bit too revealing for a superhero...nobdy is gonna run around fighting crime in that!
    And as for Adrianne Palicki...Yum!

  4. If they really want to make it a cool series, they'll use the Perez era stories or some of those ones that I heard were very mythology based around 2005

  5. Dave,
I reserve the right as a fan to bitch. I'm not saying she's not attractive, but you wouldn't know that by that picture. It does look like it was for a Porn version of Wonder Woman not a major network show.
Brubaker's stuff was just as good as Perez. If they can mix those two I'll be very happy regardless of how hideous the costume is.
